Good day chardschat community,

I played zoom nl2 on poker stars on that hand.

Hero holds :jh4::jd4:

Villian(UTG): raises $0.04 to $0.06

Folded to Hero (SB)

Hero: calls $0.05
BB folds

*** FLOP ***:8c4::ks4::jc4:
*** POT*** $ 0.14

Hero: checks
Villian: bets $0.07
Hero: raises $0.17 to $0.24
Villian: calls $0.17

*** TURN *** :kh4:
*** POT*** $ 0.62

Villian: bets $0.45
Hero: calls $0.45

*** RIVER *** :8h4:
*** POT*** $ 1.52
Hero: checks
Villian: bets $0.50
Hero: calls $0.50

I was calling the river because I got good odds there. But Im not sure if this is worth calling because I feel I would be more often behind on that scenario.

Is it fine to call the river here?

I think it's fine. You lose to any K but beat any 8 except quads as well as AA/QQ/TT/99 and bluffs from bricked flush draws.

I would prefer to 3 bet JJ from the blinds though.

Smells like a value bet, but as you said you are getting really good pot odds with full house. Opponent can have AK, KQ, KTs and maybe K9s and play it this way. Also perhaps QTs or some flush draws like AT or AQ that are bluffing after having missed draws.

I think you can go either way against the population as far as whether to call or not at 2nl. If you have a read on the player then that obviously will help you, as you can see there are more value combos than bluffs in this spot, but the price is good to call.

I also prefer a 3bet with JJ from the SB. The hand is ahead of an UTG opening range in 6max and should show a bigger profit to 3bet as opposed to calling.

It's a really bad run out for your hand, but I think calling is OK.

Jam the turn. If you CR the flop and your opponent bets the turn on that card, you should be jamming near 100% of the time.

As played, river call is fine.

Jam the turn with a smile on your face! V very likely has a K.

As played are we ahead 20%+ of the time. This will depend on villain type and reads. This stinks of value though, but a few combos of bluffs and maybe a miss-played overvalued A8 and possibly. But honestly probably not, and folding here pretty safe in the knowledge your br is 25bb bigger will feel great!

Yes, it is OK
But I would 3bet preflop, and would play aggressive hand if lost on the river, it would be just a bad runner, except KK and 88.
