Not against quads, apparently...
Why are you check-raising the flop? And calling his 3-bet, basically screaming he has the 7? We don't have a monster, and the flop hits limping ranges pretty hard. Just check/call and keep the pot small.

We get there on the turn so don't check and risk losing value. But it got in in the end so good job.

I knew him to be a very loose player, and I did put him on a set, but I had figured on the turn that he was all but beat. Again when the turn gave me a full house, he only had 1 out.

Check raising the flop is bad. Other than that, you got you $ in ahead.

You try to forget bad beats, not swelling on them. There is separate forum topic for bad beats if you are for masochism or want to yell bad vibes out, just don't visit there too often.
