The game is NL2 zoom 6max and i am at the button with A4s. Both me and the villain sit around 80-90BB I opt for my standard 2.5x to 0,05$. SB folds and BB 3bets to 0,16$. I am in position with a good hand play postflop and i believe i can get away cheaply from a dominated top pair. Plus people in zoom resteal like theres no tomorrow (same thing i do) so theres a big chance the villain is bluffing and is going to give up after the flop or maybe after a cbet. So i am prepared to float a safe flop.
Flop is 9,,8,4r. Villain continues for 2/3 pot. Great flop for me to continue with my small pair. Villain is probably representing an overpair.
Turn 9. Villain continues for 3/4 pot.. if i believe i am good at the flop this card is really great for me. so i call again. river 7. Villain shoves for a pot sized bet. Lets say pot is 1,05$ and villain shoves for 0,95$.
So here are my thoughts... If villain haves what hes repping, (an overpair) then wouldnt he like to pot control after the 9 came and i called his bet? There are so many 9s in my 3bet calling range in position, like 9,10s j9s 89s.. people in NL2 dont think about stuff like that anyway and tend to overvalue their overpairs. but still i believe even a microstakes donk at least considers check calling with QQ when the board pairs for the top card. especially when its a 9 or a 10. On the other hand there are many combos of good resteal hands that beat me. J10s is there and has the nut straight, and even j9, 10,9 , 89,, all them caught their trips. but i believe that someone in those limits would have played trips more trappy, going for a check raise or something (even though there is not much to get action after you check apart from the occasional bluff. To be honest the only hand that seems to be making sense is j10s... NL2 players are pretty stuborn with 3bet pots. and are capable to 3 barrel with bluffs. whats your opinion on the river decision? Hero Call with bottom pair or fold?
