Just played this hand and I knew I had the best hand on the turn but the river card was pretty terrible. All of a sudden the villain could be holding 9X and have hit a full house 999/44. You'll notice that he posted a BB and checked pre flop and as his raise is 4% I could literally be up against any hand.

So as for the question I have, after getting raised on the river, are my only options now to call or fold this? I can't possibly shove over the top can I? Basically, have I played this right and what would you do on the river?

I almost feel stupid posting this hand as looking back on it, a call almost looks like a tight decision somehow making a reraise look comical...

Whenever your opponent is polarised (nuts or air) then the only option is really to call or fold yeah. Here he is polarised, he either has the 9 or air, you are getting a good price but i dont think he is ever bluffing so i would quite happily fold here. Raising would be suicidal. I like your bet sizing on each street though, wp if you folded.

Im tempted to say call cause its only another .32 into a pot of ~1.40. But min raises are usually the nuts. Sick fold though yuck

This.

I would have called, knowing i'm probably beat but just wanted to see (lol, bad i know!).

Folding here, given his passive stats, is definately the right play. Very tough to fold. If you did fold, very well done!

Well in the end I DID call. It was a tough decision as is obvious but knowing the guy was fishy and not a regular I decided to call almost expecting the worst but it turned out he was holding T4o and hit trips on the flop like I did. He must have got excited at the thought of the full house.

I wouldn't say it was a good call on my part and probably wouldn't take the same line again in a similar situation. So I guess my general thinking here is right thankfully! Cheers guys.

I think I'd fold tbh.

Literally only ever does this with 9x.
