Hand converted by PokerTracker 4: http://www.pokertracker.com

BTN: 106.5 BB (VPIP: 9.09, PFR: 4.55, 3Bet Preflop: 0.00, hands: 24)
SB: 100.5 BB (VPIP: 16.00, PFR: 8.00, 3Bet Preflop: 0.00, Hands: 25)
BB: 101.5 BB (VPIP: 15.29, PFR: 10.59, 3Bet Preflop: 3.13, Hands: 85)

MP: 261.5 BB (VPIP: 76.00, PFR: 0.00, 3Bet Preflop: 0.00, Hands: 25)
Hero (CO): 100 BB

SB posts SB 0.5 BB, BB posts BB 1 BB

Pre Flop: (pot: 1.5 BB) Hero has Kh Jc
fold, fold, Hero raises to 3 BB, BTN calls 3 BB, fold, fold

Flop : (7.5 BB, 2 players) 5s 4c Jh
Hero bets 3.5 BB, BTN calls 3.5 BB

Turn : (14.5 BB, 2 players) 9s
Hero bets 7 BB, BTN calls 7 BB

River : (28.5 BB, 2 players) 7h
Hero bets 18 BB, BTN calls 18 BB

I'm pretty ok with all the betting here. I think the bets are pretty standard pot building. I'm wondering if I'm trying too hard for the top pair here. I'm guessing he is going to be holding suited aces, pairs and ATo+ KJs+ possibly a little wider so I don't think he gets much out of the flop unless he has AJ 55 or 44. Guessing JJ+ would be in his not yet existent 3-bet range. as the cards come out I'm guessing he has me beat or an ace he wants to get high card with or A4/A5 maybe A9 if he floated the flop. not really thinking straight in any sense. Too nitty. nonetheless I didn't want a wild pot, but should I be betting larger on the river given the persistent call down or just chalk it up to a station-y pattern.

Hero shows Kh Jc (One Pair, Jacks)
(Pre 0%, Flop 0%, Turn 0%)

Hero wins 61.5 BB
1 BB was deducted from the pot for the jackpot.

Against this player, yes you're overplaying TPGK. His range doesn't include stuff like suited aces, he's a 9/5 over a non-terrible sample. Check/call the turn, check/fold the river. His stats are crazy tight, and the overpairs might still be in his range.

This range seems about right.

I'd bet flop, bet turn and check/fold river. This player is a complete nit and will probably have AJ+ if he calls 2 streets then bets the river.

This guy is so tight he squeaks although it is only 25 hands. His numbers don't look like a guy who floats. so you have to figure he has something. How many of those will you beat? With an under 10 VPIP I'd say not many, although as it turns out he had one

I would have C-Bet, checked and tried and get to show down.

Your bet sizing is too small. Go for 2/3 pot for a standard cbet. Bet 5bb when the pot is 7.5bb instead of betting 3.5

Given your very small bet sizing I think you did not overplay. I sometimes call any made hand, because villains usually betting this small go in my book to fish department, they mostly have underpaid to the board and many times only AK with occasional TPBK. I do think however that you would make more money in long run by betting standard size and not 3 barreling.

betting flop on a dry board isnt good .. we want action from worst hands... our aim should be getting river cheap as and going min value against his medium pp
