I don't think I'm being bluffed here hardly ever really, but is he doing this with worse AT-AQ hands?

I don't see a point in calling here really. It's all going in I think? Do I really fold here?

BB ($5.29)
UTG ($2.14)

Why can't he have a worse hand? You under-repped yours by not 4betting pre-, so it's not out of the question that he thinks TPGK is good. You don't even need to have an A since his range for 3betting pre- certainly includes hands that don't have one either.

I came close to 4-betting pre, I try to mix that up some.

So you would have gotten in in here?

BVB - I am almost always 4betting this pre, but since you are 150bb deep I do not think that it is atrocious that you didn't. Don't donk the flop, you have under-repped your hand and he is going to bet this board here probably 100% of the time.

Personally I think a call, c/r turn and shove river would be sexy on good runouts.

Really hard to say anything w/o some info on the villain. But I am probably not going anywhere though. Your hand is under repped big especially being that this is BvB.

Agree with all of this by the way:

Wow - BlackRain agreed with me. I guess reading your e-book did help. :D

Don't shove flop; just call. You've most likely got him crushed, and if he's an aggressive player, he'll probably continue betting. Let him.

Thanks guys.

As I said earlier, this would often be a 4-bet for me. I make an effort to mix that up a bit. Our stack sizes probably did have an affect on my thinking at the time, but honestly I don't specifically remember.

What I do remember thinking at the time was that I didn't like calling in case he was on a draw. I felt like if I called his flop raise then I'm pot committed anyway... why let him fold if he misses. So I shoved on him.

In hindsight, he doesn't often have drawing hands here with the way he played this.

I didn't think I had played it awfully. Just wanted to double check my logic. He had pocket Aces so I think I was doomed here at any rate lol.

With two Aces out there already you can usually discount AA in his hand, so that was unlucky.
If he had 77 or 66 more likely he just calls preflop in position rather than reraises.
So usually on the flop you rate to be best here so I don't mind leading into him or check raising here for value especially with the backdoor flush. I'm not worried about the club flush as the ace is on the board. Was he re-raising with KQ clubs, very unlikely.
If he shows a lot of strength with reraises on the flop then I'm then just trying to play my one pair hand as cheaply as possible to showdown but agree it would be difficult to get away from this hand so don't fret too much about this one.

There is certainly information missing here but I think your good here A LOT. I mean, come on, this is a classic blind vs blind battle. The guy probably thought you were trying to steal their blind and is attempting to outplay you. Generally aggression wins in these spots, but you have AK. I wouldn't always recommend stacking off with AK, but you should be looking to put in a reraise, and if opponent comes over the top, happily call and be ahead of opponents range MOST OF THE TIME. opponent is not 3betting middle pocket pairs preflop in this spot imo. At 5NL this seems like a good spot to be in. Opponent could even be as strong as JJ, QQ, KK, 1010, but you have all of those hands CRUSHED now.

And in my opinion the problem with cold calling is that if the opponent is even slightly competent then they will shut down on the turn. If they have a weaker ace they will practice pot control and try to get to showdown (rather than firing another barrel) which means you lost value because you didn't 4bet. Cold calling is a much stronger move than reraising. When you cold call you are basically polarizing your range to a big ace.
If opponent is competent they can also stack off if a third club comes and represent the flush. This also puts you in a tough spot. If you 4bet the flop you don't have to make a decision of a trouble card comes.
Lastly, if opponent believes your "full of it" then why not 4bet? This could induce a strong opponent to 5bet shove with much worse.
I simply do not see the merits of calling. Are you trying to get to showdown? All you have is AK, it isn't a strong enough hand to let your opponent "dig their own grave". When you flop a full house against a super agro opponent - let them dif their own grave. In this spot your GOOD on the flop and there are FEW turn and river cards that can help you. Because of this fact you need to put in a sizable raise.

You also must consider that ending this hand without showdown will be good for your table image, people will be interested in knowing whether you had it or not. Next time you get AA somebody is going to look you up. Showdown hurts your table image IMO.

so to conclude: raise raise raise!
because letting your opponent "barrel at it on the turn and river" is a bad idea when you have one pair and your opponent could easily improve!.
