BB: $2.00

BTN: $2.00
Hero (SB): $1.30

Pre Flop: ($0.03) Hero is SB with K

UTG calls $0.02, 3 folds, Hero raises to $0.10, BB raises to $0.32, 2 folds

Final Pot: $0.22
BB wins $0.22

I wanted to know if this was the right play? This villain was an unknown player and it was his 5th hand or so on the table. He snapped 3bet me here. This may look to nitty or a total fish play but i really didn't know what to do here?

My first question would be why do you play 65BB deep ? Fill up to 100BB couse not many good players play with less than 100BB. Why you ask ?
Becouse the strategy is going to alter based on your stack size and if you dont have a plan on how to play good 60-80BB poker i would stay stick to standard 100BB.

Since this is an unknown player, blind vs blind war, 2NL and you have AK in the SB, 50BB behind showing here is certainly the right play. Folding is way way too nitty.
Another reason why you should allways buy in for 100BB at these stakes is becouse you want to maximize your win rate.
People are fishy and they are going to make way too much mistakes and if you want to move up in stakes you cant leave money on the table.
ABC poker is going to get you far at these stakes and i would say every time you buy in with 60BB and get it all in with the best you are leaving 40BB to your opponent that should have been yours.

I am trying to start from 0 dollars and see how far i can grind it up, a after 3 weeks of playing freerolls i had 2 dollars and yesterday i took a shot at 2NL and my bankroll became 3 dollars but i don't buy-in for max because if i lose a flip or something i lose my hole bankroll, at the moment i have 3,29 dollars :) I was a little bit afraid to lose by bankroll so i folded

You being afraid to make the right play is a symptom of your stack size and bankroll size. With a < 2 buyin bankroll you are just gambling anyway so just shove this hand bvb. I'd recommend you deposit more cash so you can use proper bankroll management.

This is an auto shove. I think folding is really bad. Raise size is fine although a little big. But you can just fold AK there. Taking a flop isn't the best choice either because you aren't super deep. So shoving is left and that's the most profitable play. Sometimes you run into a big hand but you can't play no limit holdem like that.

I think you made a right choise not to shove because your roll is that small. You should find lots of better spot in 2NL to risk it where you know you are way ahead. Between calling and folding, I would call, but slipsuit, if I remember correctly, says folding is better OOP.

Hello! You really play bad bankroll management. But in addition to the option of 100 BB, there is also a short stack strategy (SSS). With this bankroll is the best choice.

Ugh, this should never be a fold, but I guess you don't wanna be flipping for half of your BR. Which is the problem if you're jumping into cash game with half of your BR.

Normally it's either a shove or a call. 65 blinds deep I'd just shove.

I don't really know what you should be playing with a $3 BR, but making bad plays in 2NL because of BR considerations doesn't seem the way to go.

Good luck anyway, I'm doing a similar challenge but didn't have to deal with a $3 BR haha.

You need to shove this hand.

But most importantly, you can't play poker and win with this mindset. You have to make the best play every time, and if your decision is based on bankroll, then you're playing above your means.

This hand could be a 4bet or a call, both are good options, if you are not so sure call, see the flop and if you hit one of your cards you will have a strong hand.
The thing is if you fold a 3bet with this hand you fold against almost all the 3bets and that will make you a weak player and your opponents will exploid that

there is lots of good advice here...but the best is from John A.

But most importantly, you can't play poker and win with this mindset. You have to make the best play every time, and if your decision is based on bankroll, then you're playing above your means.

and this advice applies to all stakes/levels. I would suggest playing as many freerolls as possible if you don't wish to deposit...and not depositing is cool if that's the way you want to do it. If you are good enough to maintain a roll once you have it, you are good enough to win a starter roll in the freerolls...win yourself a min of $20 before you start on the cash tables/real money games. If you sink back to below $10, then stop playing the cash games, and go back to the freerolls and make some more free cash.

Variance will slap you in the face as often as it will double you up...and your roll needs to be able to absorb this variance.

I would suggest buying in for the full amount, 100bb. Your raise is fine and standard. Knowing nothing about the player and given our weird stack size I probably just shove here. Normal stack size, I fold.
