Kinda hard for me to put people on sets. Straights and flushes are easier to detect with the board.

In my opinion when he checked the turn it was your chance to bet him off, and check strength of his hand. After the flop he was representing that he had a pretty good hand, and possible had a 10, or you could have read it as him just c-betting after his pre-flop raise. I most likely would not have included 4 5 in my range of hands for him my self, but you would have prob had a better read on him on me all I can really do is look at this hand and the numbers. Betting the Queen on the turn could have possibly made him fold a 10 or in this case his 4, or given you more information about where you stood in the hand. Another thing you could have considered doing is 3-betting him pre-flop to get more information, or re-raising him on the flop as well.

The reason i didn't bet the turn was i was expecting another check on the river. I didn't want any more money in the pot with my 99 against that board. Just wanted to see a cheap showdown....
I really doubtful of the strenth of my hand even when he checks the queen on the turn...
Maybe i'm too nitty?

Looking back at the hand... I think i want to fold that river everytime... He could only bet that against me with a T or Q, or trips as he did...

Again not enough information on the vill to range him but an UTG range is normally high cards that being the case a raise on this low card dryish flop will take this down fairly often. Once you call and he checks the turn you should bet and take it away from him. You gave him a free card and paid the penalty.

Either take a stab on the turn and then check / fold on the river if met with resistance or simply fold the river if you check the turn. You are simply bluff catching so a lot of risk - not getting good odds.:p

Very bad call.

Anyway, I do agree for you to take a stab on the turn and represent a good hand.

a villain open raising 45s utg is a fish imo, if it were a more competant opp you should def bet turn 100%, ut i dont think this guuy is ever folding bottom pair.

when you bet the turn its not for value, so your relying heavily on fold equity, which it doesnt seem like yu have much of. so i would check down after the flop, def fold when he pots the river.
