I'd fire flop for 1/2 pot -- thinner, since our hand is gonna be beat a fair bit (though is probably ahead). Might check back turn because firing all 3 with 2nd pair is kinda thin (though in fairness turn adds draws an idiot villain can call with). River's fine.

I guess i'm worried about thinning the bet on the flop because it's obvious i didn't hit hard. Anyone who has half a brain would be able to see that. When i 3/4 bet i do bet the same with higher pocket pairs or even AK.

Your right though that flop really smells a lil danger with connected and i see the point in thinning my flop raise because even stronger hands are at danger... But wouldn't that mean we should be raising higher to protect our hands? He did bet on the king which i thought he could've had quite easily. And now thinking about it i doub't he would've bet the river with 9A unless he wanted a fold and tried using the scare card.

I bet the turn because i had more outs now and if i hit i could get better value and a higher chance of a call at this stage.

I messed up though because my opponent played this rather tricky, he hit the straight on the turn... And i'd suggest he had me on AK, which is why perhaps i thought my raise on the river was disguised and my hand was stronger than what my opponent thought.\

he held 67off

Random question not to this hand....I've noticed a pattern from the BB and SB... I win much more when the other Blind position isn't in the hand... I guess i should be just folding more when the other party is involved unless i got prems. What do some of you think when the blinds are involved?

At 2NL base assumption should never be that villain has half a brain. Doubly so for 888 2NL. :D

Personally I just fire half-pot in every board (uness I hit hard vs an idiot that's never folding in which case I pot it or even overbet). Gives me better odds to profit, lets me have a balanced range when I fire draws, and gives me really good odds to get folds.

Flop is fine. Turn I'd bet bigger seeing as we have more equity. Jam river :)

You can make it 5x vs this fish pre-flop. Bet turn bigger.
