Hey guys, I have these two hands where I'm not sure if I should have laid down premium pocket pairs post flop or not. They're a little different, but they deal with the same issue so I hope it's alright if I post them both in the same thread.

I'm writing these hands out the long way; I used PT4 to convert them and c/p the note document it created but it was miles long and not at all like the other threads, so I hope this is an acceptable format.

Hand 1

Hero on button with QdQs. Folds to hero; hero opens 0.06
Small blind folds
Big blind (villain) calls (unknown villain, 4 hand history).

Flop - $0.13 pot
10c 9d 3s
Villain checks, Hero bets $0.08, Villain calls.

Turn - $0.29 pot
10s
Villain checks, Hero bets $0.16, Villain raises $0.32, Hero calls.

River - $0.93 pot
2c
Villain bets $0.64, Hero calls.

Total pot $2.21

Hand 2

Hero big blind with KsKd.
Villain opens UTG, calls $0.02.
Folds to Hero, Hero raises $0.08. Villain reraises $0.17, Hero calls.

Flop - $0.35 pot
7c2c2d
Hero checks, Villain bets $0.34, Hero calls.

Turn - $1.03 pot
3s
Hero checks, Villain bets $0.99, Hero raises all in $1.62, Villain calls.

Total pot $4.27

Thanks in advance guys, this is my first time posting hand analysis so again, sorry if I got the format wrong.

Hand 1 is tough, but this is probably a fold I'd make most of the time. The main reason being is "John's Theorm" lol. If you get check min raised on the turn at micro stakes, you're nearly drawing dead 98% of the time. If they had a draw, they'd more than min raise. It's doubtful 9x check raises. It's tough because you have an over pair, and the guy could be doing something dumb.... that's the 2%. But the rest of the time you're behind and drawing slim.'

Hand 2 though is fine. I think you played it well. If he has AA, then oh well.

Thanks guys. I was reasonably happy with H2 but not H1. What is "John's theorem" though John A?

And Aces2w1n, I tried four-bet all in flop today.

Hero on BB with AA
UTG (11/13 over 134hands) raises 0.06
Button calls
Small blind raises 0.24
Hero calls
UTG blind calls
Button calls.

Flop - $0.96 pot
746
Small blind bets 0.60
Hero calls
UTG raises $1.20
Button folds
Small blind folds
Hero reraises $3.16
UTG rereaises all in
Hero calls

Pot $13.82 (at 2NL zoom.. lol)

I was calling and not raising because I didn't want to scare the money off by having SB and BB reraising a lot. This worked in the case of the button who called SB preflop raise to see the flop, but caused me to suck out by getting set mined.

Should I have folded when UTG was so aggro post flop?

The first hands is a bit rough. You have a premium pair with no over cards and no draws. This is one of those times you hope the river card fills in ALL the draws to make your decision very easy. lol. I might make a crying call on the river, but that check/min raise should be setting off alarm bells. I would think the big drawing hands like JsQs, AsKs, KsQs, or 7s8s would be making a larger raise trying to take it down on the turn. Perhaps the villain makes this play with JJ, 88, 77, A9, or a bluff (knowing that second T is a scare card). However, I think you are going to run into a T or a full house too often in this spot. Although it is tough to do, I think folding is probably the right move here.

Hand 2 looks good. You are never gonna fold KK in this spot. I may have raised on the flop since 2 clubs came, but I don't think it would have changed the way the hand played out very much.

Hand 1
Turn - $0.29 pot - Check (Pot Control)

I would have done the same. (Many times I end up seeing opponent's Aces, but some times, <my pair, and hurray, I celebrate like a mad man :D )
