so i guess to give commentary on my part, i checked the flop because a lot of money was in already, and i was trying not to scare him. when the turn came out, i thought he was bluffing trips or top pair, and decided to call to lure him in more. when the river came out and he bet like the whole pot, i thought he either is adding value to his trips or maybe was bluffing flush. i reraised here which i think was the right thing to do, and he moves all in. i call because its 7 cents, and surprises me with the flush.

i would like to know where i went wrong in this hand. looking back i think maybe a bet on the flop wouldve been smarter because then he would have to risk even more for his gutflush, but i also wanted to be discreet so im not too sure.

i think the other big clue to his hand i missed was either his large bet on the river or his all-in, but at the time i got thinking that i had already won, so it kinda flew past me. i also didnt know how this guy plays at all because he had just sat down.

thanks for reading and if you guys could help clarify how to play this, that would be really helpful

What is up with the preflop 4bet? Also

BET THE FLOP! 100% of the time. Zero question. Bet it. Seriously it's a MUST bet.

After playing your pockets extremely aggressively pre flop , then after hitting a set on the flop you played it equally passive. What were you thinking ?? Balancing out your aggression ??

You played this hand poorly post flop for sure. Missed value bet on the flop. And even bigger blunder you even failed to extract more value on fourth street.

I think hitting that set hypnotized you.:icon_joke

you need to fundamentally think about why you check and bet in any situation
