You tried to be too specific with your ranging (thought he had AK? more like hoped he did). Key word is RANGE, not a specific hand. QQ was certainly in that range, along with KK, down to a pocket pair that matches the board, and yes, AK. You don't say what the flop was but also have to look for some possible coordination there.
No pot control with what almost amounts to a mid-pair and an overcard in his range (Q) on the turn provokes you to shove??? If he has QQ and the board is uncoordinated - yeah - he could very well check there.
I'm having a deja vu - was this on Carbon in the last 48 hours? I might of had that KK.
