No reads or stats on villain as I am multi tabling and it is hard to pay attention to most players. He has not made much noise since I have sat down.

Raise to at least $1.00 preflop and on the flop you probably have the best hand so bet around 3/4th pot.

How do I know that I probably have the best hand here?

Because there's only 1 card higher than your pair on the flop...If he calls then try to check it down from there.

How does only 1 higher card automatically mean that I have the best hand here?
What hand are we putting our opponent on here?

Looks like a spot to make continuation bet. If he calls or raises, he probably has you beat so you're done with the hand.

That King might scare him as much as it scares you.

He didn't raise much, and it cost him $.45 to win the $1 in the pot at that point. With no reads, you have his possible range beat more times than not. Maybe not by a huge amount, more often than not.

He's just as likely to have A/Q as A/K. (Of course, K/Q has you beat too.) You still need to bet to see where you stand.
