5-Tabling 10NL, so no reads. No stats.
We all see these types of players in our games, and always wonder why they make the ridiculous over bets on the river.
I really only have 2 questions;
1) Can we get away with calling this?
2) What range do we put villain on here?

A four is possible since there were no raises preflop. Maybe even two hearts. Let him take your $0.35.

i think this should be a fold based on the fact that you really only put $0.25 in here and he could have any two

the turn could have given him a flush draw in which case he would have hit
a four isn't out of the question either

i would just fold since i wasn't to heavily invested in this pot

His play seems to be pretty consistant with a flush, or possibly a slowplayed boat, where he was hoping you would catch a piece of something. There is so many hands that beat you here that it is not even worth it, even qj beats you. Just give this guy his quarter and move on lol

I think its a fold, he could have KJ or QJ or a flush and you're not getting good odds to call since he bet $2 into a $.7 pot.

easy fold. it's a two-step thought process that should be almost automatic

1. his overbet polarizes his range between strong hands and bluffs
2. what calls the turn that now has a bluffing hand? virtually nothing. there's not a real busted draw or anything

regardless of results this should be a routine fold for you.

edit: to put it another way: nearly the only way you were good here is if he floated the turn with air to take it away on the river with an overbet. way too unlikely a scenario to be a +EV call

No way you should even think of calling this. Even a better kicker has you beat. Most likely a flush draw that hit because a 4 wouldn't bet that much right after the 3rd heart hit. But he could have a boat, a set or a 48, 4J, or 46. I've actually seen this a lot at the lower limits. Someone will slowplay a monster and then make an extreme overbet and it sometimes works since it looks so much like a bluff. Of course there's the chance that it's someone saying "grr my pot, me bluff" but you don't have a very good hand here compared with the board. Easy fold.

No worries guy. Did not make the call. Opponent did not show.
Really I created this thread to make a point. These insane river bets, as zachvac pointed out, are normally slow played monsters. It is comical how this river bet never works.
I am never calling this river bet without being sure I have the best hand.
I posted this thread more out of frustration with these insane river bets that never work, rather than actually needing any advice.
