OK, so I made a move pre-flop based on a read I'll explain. How is my thought process for the rest of the hand, and is the river a call or a raise?
Stacks:
* UTG with $10.05
* MP1 with $11.45
* MP2 with $13.15
* CO with $9.30
* BTN with $10.05
* SB with $10.85
* BB with $16.80
Blinds: $0.05/$0.10
Site: pokerstars
* * Dealt to UTG:6♦ 6♠
* * Sklansky group 6
Preflop:
* * Hero calls [$0.10]
I limp utg with a small pair trying to see a cheap flop or set mine.
* * 5 players fold.
* * BB raises $0.20 to $0.30
So this villain was smart and pretty aggressive. He was very positionally aware. He always raised or folded from LP, punishing limpers. So when it folded all the way to him in the BB, I read his raise as a steal, and I decided to represent a big hand here.
* * Hero raises $0.90 to $1.20
* * BB calls [$0.90]
Uh oh.
* * Total folds this street: 5
* * Potsize: $2.35
Flop:
* * J♥ 2♣ 6♣
* * BB: checks
* * Hero bets [$2]
Nice flop! There's a flush draw, so I'm not slow playing.
* * BB calls [$2]
OK, so when villain calls here, I tried to think about what he would call my re-raise preflop with and c/c this flop, giving that I'm repping AA or KK. A flush draw is possible, especially if he also holds the J of clubs. He could have a set. He could have KK or QQ and hope he might still be ahead. Or, he could be slow playing AA himself.
* * Potsize: $6.15
Turn:
* * A♣
* * BB: checks
* * Hero: checks
On the turn, even though I have a set and it's incredibly disguised, I still felt this was a WA/WB situation. If I bet, flushes and sets aren't going away and if all the money goes in the only thing I would beat is a set of twos. Most of the rest of his range he will probably fold. I have position and wait to see what happens on the river.
* * Potsize: $6.15
River:
* * Q♥
* * BB bets [$1.10]
* * Hero calls [$1.10]
Now QQ has pulled ahead of me as well. Even though his bet definitely feels more like a blocker bet than a value bet, I don't see what would call a raise that I beat. Meaning if it is a blocker bet, it worked pretty well. Thoughts on the hand?
