It certainly depends on your read of your opponent, but I do not think you played the hand bad. I would think its unlikely my opponent had AQ the way he played his bets. Further AA or KK is possible, but I'm not convinced based on this hand. The likely hands I would have thought of there are AK or JJ-77 (and 77 would not likely shove after hitting his set). You have most of thost hands in bad enough shape that your call seems good. The real key is your read, but without that info I like the call.

Don't include the results if you want a good analysis (I've included results before when I've posted but that's when it's showing a good or bad play on my part as much as asking for analysis)

At $10NL against someone who has 41bbs it's not an awful play, for reasons that the results point out. I dunno if I would have called myself without some read other than the level and the stack size.

Despite this answer seeming a bit results oriented, I think at 10NL there is enough chance of seeing two overcards or even a bluff with ace rag that I would call this. Sometimes (more rarely) an opponent might even have middle pair top kicker. You're getting 1.5:1 odds on your money as well, so I would go ahead and make the call here expecting to see something less than top pair at least 40% of the time.

Obviously you should depend some on your read as gns said - what could he be reraising you with preflop? AQ is the only thing I would be that worried about here, but again I expect to see something else at least 40% of the time.

with villain 60% vpip and 40bb deep, I 4bet shove preflop. You're way ahead of his 3bet range, he'll call light with ace rag, pocket 3s and stuff like that, and you spare yourself a difficult decision on the flop.

yes.

the terminology is that BB 1bets when he posts his blind, your open-raise is a 2bet, his reraise is a 3bet, and i suggest you rereraise, which is a 4bet.

A pot sized reraise would be about to $3, and since villain is only $4 deep, it's best to just put him all in.
