No stats. Villain is somewhat tight/passive. Horrible combo imo. Can we make another value bet here on the river or simply check behind?

I hate hands like that, because I have a sneaking suspicion that they have a great hand but are letting me do all the work...

Well what would you do here on the river? I suppose you vote check based on what you just told me.

I would check here, you only will get called or reraised by a hand that's beating you. You played this fine although I would say that there is an argument to be made to check the turn also as a lot of SB range hits with the J. TPTK you want to get to showdown cheaply on a scary board.

I'm not a fan of the super wimpy bets on the flop & turn. Lets at least bet 2/3 of the pot on the flop.

Against a tight/passive villain, I value bet this. There's not as much need to control the size of the pot due to the fact that you've been making super small bets on the flop & turn. I'd bet a dollar or so. But I don't think checking behind is a terrible play either.

Bet-fold river - if he's raising you after this action there's no way you're ahead.

Tricky or Straightforward

I would have bet more to begin with so that I could narrow down his range of hands. Someone calling .35 doesn't tell you a whole lot, same with the .65. You want to get value but you also want to learn something, or at the very least make them pay if they're drawing by decreasing their implied odds in the case that they have already put you on top pair. I would do different things depending on the kind of player he was.

STRAIGHTFORWARD:

You said he was tight/passive so your bet here is unlikely to be re-raised since he will be too passive to do that unless he has a monster, and like others have said, if he re-raises you all in or something (which I doubt) you just fold. However, I think when he calls here you are going to win more often than not. Honestly, I feel like he probably has QJ, KQ, AJ, KJ or a club draw of some sort. He could possibly have KT or JT but I seriously doubt it because of his tight nature. He could also have AQ ,AA, KK, JJ, or pocket tens and these would probably be cases where he might re-raise significantly and you could just fold. However, of the four hands that he is "likely" to have (based on his betting pattern, QJ,KQ,AJ,KJ), you crush three of them and lose to one. You also beat the club draw.

TRICKY or Not sure what he's capable of yet:

This assessment changes, however, if this player is even remotely tricky. If he is tricky make sure that you leave enough behind with your bet to be able to logically fold. With tricky players I have found that it is usually best to just check on the river and see what unfolds especially since you have position. The free chance to see what he played and how it matches up with his betting pattern can more than pay for the value bet lost with tricky players, and IMO that is worth it.

I bet $1.10 on the river and got called. He showed QcJc.
So I agree, betting more on the flop/turn is def. the better play.

Wow, he had quite the draw. I was going to say it looked like a missed flush draw but he had the royal flush draw, I would've been raising that for sure.
