How would we continue this hand on the turn vs. an unknown. I am deep stacked and villain has about $2 less than max buy-in.
I made my standard continuation bet on the flop, and get called. I suspect a float or some kind of 9 from villain, but really do not know where I am at this point.
What is our line for the rest of the hand here and why?

First of all that wasn't a continuation bet since a continuation bet is a bluff. As for his hand he didn't raise the flop so he probably doesn't have an overpair or a set, he can't have a flush draw obv since the flop was rainbow, he might have something like king 9 or ace 9, or maybe middle pair like ace 8 or king 8. You might be beat but you have 8 outs to the straight so I think you should check and call any reasonable bet.

It is still considered a continuation bet because it is a bet made on the flop, continuing my aggression in the hand. It does not have to be a bluff to be considered a c-bet. I will wait for more replies before I say anything else.

Theres a couple ways to play this turn I think. If your behind at this point, you have 8 outs to your straight, so your only about 16 percent or so to make your straight on the river, so you could check , but if he bets it is very unlikely he will be giving you pot odds to call and even if you do make your straight it will be a pretty obvious one, and you probably won't get paid off on the river. In my opinion the best play is to two barrel the ace on the turn and represent the ace since you raised preflop and your opponent knows that may be well within your range, if he calls or raises, you can shut down and give it up.

I think it's a good idea to make another bet on the turn, if he has another 9 you can probably make him fold as long as you don't give him the right odds. If he raises you you're done with the hand, if he just calls you see what the river is and make your play from there.

Mystikalmind1 bets $1.70
royalburrito24 ??

I checked this turn because I felt as though my opponent might be slow playing a set or a made hand.
The pot is now ~$4.10
He offers me the right odds to chase my straight, but do we still put him on a better hand than us? Would it be better to raise him off of his weak pair or do we flat call and hope to stack off on the river if we make our straight?
Do we assume that we are beat here and are strictly drawing?

By checking the turn you gave him the green light to make a play at this. What kind of hands has he floated an EP raise before? Has he floated a flop before and folded to a turn check/raise? Has he bet the turn and then checked down the river? You need to figure out whether he'll go to showdown w/o another bet. You may be getting odds now but are you willing to check/fold a missed river?

Hes offering you around 3.5 to 1, when you need somewhere around 5 to 1 to make this call profitable. I wouldn't rely too much on implied odds either, making an obvious one card straight, unless you are pretty certain you can make a couple more dollars off of him on the river. That's why I prefer a bet on the turn, it gives him a chance to fold, and if he has a nine as well and is drawing you can offer him unfavorable odds. If he raises you, you can easily fold, if he calls it will probably come down to analyzing the player. When you check and show weakness and he bets it could mean anything, a semibluff, bluff, good hand, weak hand. Since you gave up the initiative in the hand and are not getting the immediate pot odds you need I would probably just fold against an unknown player.

Holy Jesus am I stupid. I calculated that terribly. I must have though my odds of winning the hand were the pot odds, and the pot odds were the odds of winning the hand.
Or I am stupid.
more more more go go go
btw very nice post Richy, everyone should take his post into consideration here.
