Kinda an interesting spot IMO...

Stats on Villains:

CO is 43/14/39% over 37 hands
SB is 63/5/13% over 40

Both are spewy/retarded.

UTG: $19.42
Hero (MP): $9.85
CO: $5.79
BTN: $10.26
SB: $2.61
BB: $6.06

Pre-Flop: :js4: :jd4: dealt to Hero (MP)
UTG folds, Hero raises to $0.35, CO raises to $0.60, BTN folds, SB calls $0.55, BB folds, Hero raises to $2.10, CO calls $1.50, SB raises to $2.56 and is All-In, Hero calls $0.51, CO calls $0.51

Is it good to 4-bet here to obtain a protected pot?

I like the 4bet but I make it enough to put the SB all-in.

Yeah, I thought he had less money. But it accomplished what I wanted.

By having a protected pot, this keeps me from getting bluffed off my hand if say a Q falls right? We're more likely to check this down with a player all in?

Since we're never folding if the CO bets, unless the flop is really ugly (2 overs, monotone, all connected) I'm pushing the rest in on the flop. I don't want AQ/AK to see too many cards.

were you allowed to 5bet preflop or is SB's raise too small to reopen betting? Because it was possible, I certainly like to 5bet this preflop.

Unless flop comes AKQ, you are now uber pot commited to play for stacks on the flop

Um, wat? If the flop comes say, Qxx, and fishy villain shoves the rest of his stack in, I think its a pretty easy fold. Why would he bluff me out when he still has the shorty to deal with and there's a dry sidepot.

Because if flop comes Qxx, fishy villain will shove any small or medium pair for value (in his fishy mind).

I'm almost NEVER folding this hand and certainly not with only 1 over to my pair. He would and should try to bluff you out because his equity in the current pot increases greatly if you fold.

BelgoSuisse, we're not allowed to reopen the betting after the shorty shove because his raise amount wasn't enough.

Then why aren't we just getting all in with both? And do you seriously think he's going to be value-jamming 99 on a Q72 board?
