The preflop call was solely on implied odds. HallAA was playing like a total maniac, and i was looking to play for stacks. MargoKid was new to the table with no reads.

There is an arguement for folding pre-flop, but i dont want to hear it. K ?

I have top-pair, no kicker, and a poor flush draw, can I possibly play for stacks here ?

You sure can. Look, you have how many outs? You have the flush draw, you have your top pair and if you really want to strech it, you have a str8 draw. What more could you want? This is a great hand to suck out on.:p

Actually the one I would worry about is the one who came along for the ride, not your maniac. If you want to play for the stacks then a check call is called for here. You have the outs to catch a nice size pot. And if the turn isn't favorable then you rethink.

Well we're about a coinflip vs an overpair, but we have tons of fold equity if we pull a lead-push. Maybe we can trap some dead money on the way too. My problem is if we get called and have to play out the turn.

I'll stack a maniac with this draw.

I like suited connectors/gapped against opponents that I want to get at, even OOP, so no argument from me.

The board is low enough that tens are likely good right now against the maniac. My concern would be whether MargoKid hit her set of 6s, maybe 4s.

I'd throw out $7~8 to see if Margo will go away.

Lol TB, I wasn't going to say it anyway, I like the call against a maniac.

Personally, I wouldn't worry too much about the flush draw being poor, there's little chance of him having a better draw to be concerned about it, and he's a maniac so the overpair, although possible, is not the biggest worry. I'd be ready to go for stacks here if Hal wants to, but Margo needs to get out the way. If you make a pot size bet and Margo folds I'd go to war with Hal if he raises, heck TP alone might be enough and if he only has 2 overcards odds of him outdrawing you are not big.

The problem is if Margo calls, otherwise its green light, and although I know it sounds reckless I'd go for stacks on this flop vs maniac, actually I'd almost hope for it.

That my opinion, but you're more seasoned than me TB, especially in cash games, so you can judge it better. Get his ass now or later, whichever you think is best.

Fold pre-flop.

As played - does he c-bet much? If so, check-raise. But overall the best line is to bet/3-bet. I'm totally happy getting it all in on the flop as you're ahead of anything except a flopped set.

Open-pushing is dumb because you get little value and if he calls, you're flipping.

You obviously didn't read the whole post.

I say make a slightly bigger than pot bet here. There are two hearts on the board so you don't want them chasing a flsuh that could possibly beat yours. If anyone has a ten, and if they do it's probably better than your kicker, they would call.

I hate the open push because all you scoop is the pot its like its not worth it, because they're only going to call you with strong hands. If your going to play for stacks and you want to push I say CHECK-RAISE ALL IN for a couple reasons:

-If he was going to lay down he's going to lay down to a push whether it is open-push or check raise, knowing that he's going to bet you miswell leach him for any amount of chips he was going to use to continuation bet and thats going to be a couple extra dollars added to your stack if he folds compared to if you open push everyone just might fold also, the middle player might bet and he might raise him or call and thats more money when you check raise over top all in.

- you'll get more info, in this situation you don't want to push all in if your opponent has two pair with a 10 or better, especially trips tho, because than your outs are strictly limited to straight and flush now instead of being able to hit a 10 or 2 pair to scoop the pot. Maybe the second player might make a bet where you know for sure he has a superior hand and than you can change your mind accordingly.

-you might get to see a free card, even though you want to go for stacks on the flop if you get to see it (4th street) you get a little more info to see if it was actually worth it to go for stacks.

"Play for stacks" doesn't necessarily mean open-push here, does it?

Your flush draw isn't that bad. Make a block bet of about half the pot to open to try to draw cheaply. Yes, I'd worry more about Margo. Your TPWK is a problem. QQ, JJ, AT, or any set could lurk. If you get any resistance that worsens your drawing odds, bail out.
