Table has been playing very loose, lots of limp calling with a wide range of hands, can I bet out on this flop ? If so how much.

I'm kind of 50/50 on this. Something like KJ/J9 will stick around and you'll kind of be in the dark should you get a caller. Any Q is obviously going to stay in aswell (if they're calling QJ/KQ PF, they're definitely staying around with TP).

How aggressive are they postflop? ie will they lead the turn with air if you check behind?

LOL Sherm, what were you thinking? And why are you hijacking tenbob's thread? Never mind.

Tenbob - against 3 random hands (see here) you have 45% equity, so probably don't want to be putting more money in voluntarily here. I'd check behind, and see what they do on the turn.

Not at all sure what you would do, but I would probably bet $6.00. I fear however this may be a leak in my game that needs plugging.

Do I want to wait for another overcard to find out I'm beat? With no useful read info, and a reasonably good shot at this pot, I've been going for it.

no better hands are folding to a bet. very few worse hands are calling (kj/j9). i check and let a medium pair bluff the turn or let kj/j9 semibluff at me.

Against one player I do this. Against 3 I dont know the value of it, giving a free cards dosnt really do much against the likelyhood of several small pair type hands, and connector type hands. If we bet here and are called, we are almost certainly beat, and we can get away from the hand on the turn, allowing a free card into this many players is surely not the way to go, how then do we know which of the three is firing at the pot with their underpair, or with their set.

Edit : Sherm what was going through your mind when you played that hand, I seriously thought you were playing A9....

Wel i think we should decide first what were gonna do on turn.

If were gonna check flop and someone bets turn, are we folding or are we gonna possibly put him on a ten or 9s or straight draw.

Although with 3 limpers who called the raise preflop, could probably be a KQ QJ out there.

ANyway, i bet the flop then check the turn.

I agree with this.

Three callers and an overcard on the flop means you are probably beaten.
Jacks is a dangerous hand and can cripple your stack if you push it too far. I speak from bitter experience. :(

The chances of you hitting anything helpful on the turn plus the 3 callers preflop and the overcard on the board means a definite check for me. The odds are heavily stacked against you. No point throwing good money after bad. I would check and see what happens on the turn.

Added thoughts next day;

This hand also has the str8 possibility if anyone has the str8 possibility, with the added slim factor of having 2 of anyone elses str8 it has a blocking factor.

I still bet the $6, figuring that whoever calls may have me beat, but with a fair to better chance of taking it down right now.

If I don't bet here, I feel certain I am handing the pot to someone on a silver platter.
