I don't use PokerStove much, but I would presume that the hands are weighted by the number of combinations (AK:PP being 8:3 ratio). So if his range is QQ+ and AK, then PS would consider AK almost as likely as all of those pairs combined. Please correct me if I'm wrong.
I think the weighting in this scenario should be heavier towards the pairs than PS would assume. It makes a lot more sense for him to want to see a flop in position with AK, which is not yet a very strong hand but is easier to evaluate after a flop than pairs like 99-QQ.
Also, I would personally fold for an even money proposition. There's effectively no profit in it if you call with 33% to win on average.
