Looks okay to me. Were you planning on calling a better river?

If the river was a blank I'd look him up for a half pot bet, but I dont think theres much you can beat that he bets on this particular river card.

Why the river? Don't we expect him to hold a 9 on the flop a lot of the time? I'm thinking that this is a bad card, but I thought the turn was worse given the flop call.

The 9 does make things worse yet or behind more hands if he had 89/J9/JT, but if the river bricked, how often should we be calling given the flop call and turn card?

Probably a pretty good %. His range is basically 8x, pocket pairs, Jx, gutshots and monsters - most of which we have beat still.

Ugh, you seem to have a knack for getting into nasty spots. Basically the hands we beat now are pocket pairs and maybe AK and MAYBE 79 for the flopped gut shot. I'd be much more inclined to call if for example the flop had a flush draw that didn't hit, but here pretty much every draw besides 79 hit. I think this is probably a fold here, although if it were a better player I could find a call just because he would understand how bad those cards were and be likely to bluff an underpair here.
