Villain here is a solid reg, 17/15/5.2 with a 9% 3bet over 450 hands. Is your typical play here to just 4bet and get it in or to flat and see a flop in position.

I am typically ~24/21/3 with a 7% 3bet

Hero (BTN): $100 (100 bb)
SB: $100 (100 bb)
BB: $68.25 (68.3 bb)
CO: $99.90 (99.9 bb)

Pre-Flop: Hero is BTN with J

CO folds, Hero raises to $3.50, SB raises to $11, BB folds, Hero?

I like flatting here personally. Especially if hes the type to cbet the flop a high percentage of the time with his entire range, I think we get a lot more value out of his worse hands this way. If we 4bet he'll usually fold out most of the worse hands, and continue with hands that mostly have good equity vs ours. That would by my typical play in this spot, but I'm sure there would be some reasonable arguments for 4betting based on history or the situation, which might maximize better than flatting.

Mostly dynamic based imo. I'd probably prefer to flat unless you have a fair bit of steal/3B history where villain will get it in pretty light. It is a pretty small 3B and JJ is pretty easy to play in position. 4Bing just seems a little thin, because in a normal situation vs a 17/15 even btn vs blind, you really aren't liking your equity with JJ aipf very much.

With an aggro dynamic it is fine to 4B and get it in tho.

With a 9% 3-bet rate, and if he has any sort of c-bet % over 50%, then I flat this unless I have a dynamic that dictates otherwise (a history of 4-bet bluffing or 4-bet folding).

Lets say you flat this and the flop comes out K76 3 suited and the SB bets out for about $15. What now?

We play poker, and make call downs/folds based on how often he bluffs, and the dynamic we have between us. But I'm certainly not folding to just 1 bet against a guy with these stats, and I might call off my stack if he's aggressive enough. People love to get spewy in 3-bet pots.

You need to get comfy playing middle pair type hands in situations where people are prone to bluffing.
