Don't have the HH saved. Played this hand earlier. 6max 5/10. I was in bb with AhAd. Button raised to 25 I raised to 80 button calls. Both players have 100bb to start hand.

Flop: Jh8h2h. I bet 2/3 (about 125) button calls.
Turn: Jh8h2h8c. I decide to check and act like I have ak. button bets 240 into 320 pot. I raise all in (about 800 to go) button snap calls and flips over 8d5d.
river is a 3c.

Want to know if I could have saved myself some money here. Did I misplay this or is it an unlucky spot? Also I never play 5/10 but was feeling ancy today and went for it. Not sure if this is a common play at 5/10. I usually play 2/4.

1) If this is 5/10 online, and you're asking this question, you should probably move down.
2) Sit at this table until this player goes broke.
3) This hand is pretty standard from your end. There are arguments for taking a different line on the turn, but they're not a big deal.

You could have really save some money.

At the turn, your play semibluff suits more on sng/mtt where at stake only is your buyin-small portion of BR only and not the whole.

Pretty much on all three of these

Im pretty sure raising turn is a mistake.

There are enough peels in villains range that will bluff turn that we lose value from on river by jamming turn. Additionally not sure what worse we expect to get called by when we jam here.

If this is 1KNL 6max then there isn't nearly enough information in the original post to tell you with any kind of authority if you played this "right" or not, and your question should be more specific. I can still infer and guess at a couple of things from your recount of the hand however... one of which being that villain - rightly or wrongly - seems to think you're a pretty big fish.

In the right context, your play in this hand is actually quite brilliant given how many more flushes villain should have than you will, but I'm doubting that the meta here is thick enough for the aforementioned context to apply.

This player is clearly a fish from the results. His stats probably suggest so, and so we can be expected to be called by a lot.

You had a bad beat.

The button played and raised crappy hole cards then played the re-raise. That didn't make sence. He was lucky to hit the 8 on flop. Usally that means though he is chick bet. Suckered into a big bet. I didn't see you get to aggressive with ace ace. Cards you should get aggressive with to avoid bad beats. Lured in a little bet then pounced.
