This is kinda a noobish spot but whatever

16/13, raise 1st in MP is 18%, his cbet and turn cbet are 50 and 45 over 306 hands. His aggression is really low at 1.4 aswell.

thoughts, I dont think he is ever tripling 9x here, he isnt aggro enough to barrell a missed FD.

hate these spots, cant see anything we can do until we know whether he is gonna try push us off hands with like AK. I'd imagine a good player could fire 3 times here but i also know almost all 50nl regs don't bluff rivers nearly as much as i sometimes think. I think he always has QQ+ here, or a flopped boat if he's a standard weak tight reg.

If he isnt agg enough to triple 9x, and wont bet missed draws. then isnt his range pretty much JJ+ and sets, so fold?

given your reads i think we can maybe fold turn as that is such a nothing card to barrel on and he is so passive. Im not a cash expert but wouldnt someone passive more likely take a bet/check/call with SDV or bet/check/bet for thin value when we check river? so his turn barrel narrows his range to a range i dont hate folding against.

Kinda getting along the right lines there duggs but i think a decent opponent who wants to barrel you off a hand doesn't need the conventional "scare cards" on the turn in this spot. Jakes range is really weighted to smaller pairs here so unless he has specifically 44 then the opponent who's trying to barrel him off them shouldn't be worried that its a brick, just because if he's aggressive and good he will realise that jakes range is weak and all he can really do is check/call and hope the other guy is bluffing, essentially all jake ever has here is a bluff catcher, a good bluff catcher but that's pretty much all we beat as i dont expect the other guy to be taking this line with anything but air/strong value.

So for me i think it all depends on how you think the villain perceives you and how you perceive the villain.

shouldnt we have a really tight 3betting range against him tho? so our preflop flatting range could conceivably have hands like AQ AK QQ- right? where as our perceived 3betting range would be AA/KK/Ax.
Maybe im making assumptions that villain is just bad but arent weak tight players generally quite passive/face up postflop?

If we assume the villain is at all agg/capable of triple barreling overs/fds/9x etc then this becomes a call on turn and river.

i think we could conceivably have hands like QQ here and he barrels 1010/JJ for value.

edit: way above my cash stakes so im more asking questions rather than stating things

Not against these guys who play their hands so face up. Just feels like it because you have an overpair but, considering he may not even be doubling hands like AKss, it's the right play.

Not really since he only cbets the flop 50%. (so of the 32 times he's opened he's barreled ~33% of the time). I'd say when he doubles he's almost always strong.
