I like the way you played the hand so far. I think the re-raise is a good play in that position. It could be a bb trying to defend his blind from a later bettor. The re-raise gives you a better idea of what hes playing with. If he came over the top again you would know your in trouble, the call gives your hand a real good look with that flop.

After the flop he bets, and really just builds the pot. I think your good here in almost every case. I guess way back in your head there is a possibility of him having 8s, but probly unrealistic. JJ would be a beat you would just have to take. That decision would have to be made based on the hands hes played and the read you have on him. Even if he is on one of them the spade draw gives you more than enough odds to play further.

What you do here is really personal choice, and I think its kind of hard to do it wrong. Personally, I'd smoothe call here, and see what he does on the turn. It makes it look like you have AK and maybe he will bet again. Id raise the turn or the river depending on what cards came out. A raise here is also good, but I think you might short yourself if he is plaing a hand like j,10 or q,j that he might continue to bet with but fold to the raise.

Knowing how he reacts to 4bets would help, but I'm pretty sure he won't be stacking any weaker than AJ, so flatting seems nice. I'm 4 betting and going with it with AQ though, so I guess it's borderline for me. I prefer a call in position and playing for stacks anytime I flop an ace or TP with a jack. The flop is obviously super nice, arguments can be made for both raising and calling I guess... if you think he's gonna spaz out and stack the flop with weaker jacks, any flush draw/T9 or even 99/TT and other random stuff when you make it something like $40 to go then go for it. If he has a history of double barreling a lot when he suspects people are floating, calling is definitely fine too, the only cards that aren't very pretty to us much are non spade kings and queens but even then we're never folding. My default without this info is just raising small and getting it in asap though.

Well I think flatting is fine as long as you plan to float or raise a lot of flops. 4 betting probably makes the hand a bit easier to play but I'd guess they are pretty close depending on your postflop edge.

As for what to do it really depends on what he does. If he doubles a lot in 3bet. Pots than calling is fine otherwise I'd just raise. If he missed the flop he probably won't put in more anyway. A raise by you here might be a naked draw and he might continue with worse jacks. He probably hit this flop somehow so I'd just put in a small raise and go from there. If he has a bad hand I'm doubting you are getting paid on flushes anyway.

I'm on my phone so this probably makes no sense so sorry in advance

I agree, flat call and let him hang himself. Raising forces 99.999% of his range to fold, 99.998% of which are behind us.

Personally I prefer 4betting pre with AJs in this spot. You got a lovely flop this time but he's barelling 100% of flops here and 2/3's of the time it's into your ace high.
