This isn't a river decision, it's a what are you doing flop/turn decision imo.
If he's just aggro and doesn't fold anywhere then I'm just c/f flop. Just too many cards to bluffcatch on that help him and not us, and not a great texture to barrel. Most turns are bad for us either way. I know we have the bdfd, but it just isn't enough when we turn a 6h or Th or 3h or whatever and he barrels.
Also if he's that loose I just make it $10 pf for straight value.
Otherwise cbetting with intention to bet lots of turns for a threatening size if he just floats overs and folds to turn barrels, but I think the standard is just to c/f flop.
Yeah i thought about this a little bit after my session, i agree that x/f flop is best vs this villain.
His general play on any street was just to bet, he bet 100% when checked too, cbet 80% with super high turn and river barrels in srp, really high WWSF, raised a decent number of cbets, and fold to 3bet of 40%.
Just got a bit confused in the moment with AK probably being the best hand a lot on the flop, and i couldn't put him on a ton for value at the river plus i think it could be an easy spot for him to over-bluff this river.
But yep i agree that its unnecessary, x/f flop and wait to hit a hand vs this guy. Thanks guys.
