Well in this hand you could say fold to the 3bet pf.. But i chose to call because i have been raising his BB and we have had a number of blind battles..
Leading the flop would be an option, but was going for the checkraise.. Check calling the turn is an option. So do i bet this turn?? And is the river a clear fold??
My plan was to b/f the river.. But does villain ever not raise a straight on the turn?? Just checking if this is an easy fold..

Any stats on villain? Fwiw this is almost always a b/f against most villians. Everything seems fine with the exception of preflop kinda hard to play oop especially if he is a decent reg. He would come out on top most of the time.

Nope.. Sucks that i dont have stats.. Decided to put in a session on another laptop.. Didn't notice him getting out of line while i was at the table.. From PTR.. He has like 18k hands at 50NL SH with a winrate of 1.45BB/100 and 15k hands at 100NL SH also win rate of 1.87BB/100.. Don't know if this counts as a reg.. That's all the info i can give on him now..

Still probably a b/f if his stats on ptr were outrageously bad then you may consider a different action but as is, I like your play.

What exactly are we putting villain on that beats us that 3 bets pre, checks behind on the flop, flats the turn then jams the river?

Call.

Not a fist pump by any means, but still a call.

Are we giving villain credit for checking behind AA on this board, then flatting the turn and value raising the river?

Are we giving villain a wide 3 bet range that includes 88 87 98 86 etc? if so is he ever checking behind on golden flops like this with these hands?

Any hand that has us beat had to have been played so bizarro that it's worth calling down.

It's the 8's. 6 combos of 88 is the nail in the coffin after random SCer 8's.

88 will play this passively a lot, as will the pair + straight draw SCer 8's some of the time.

I just can't see a lot of air making the river shove, and we don't have very good odds on the call.
Fold.

I also would fold on the river vs shove on river by your opponent but I prefer leading into the flop to see where my opponents hand range is more clearly aa kk ak instead of check raising here.
