Okay so first, I want analysis on villains hand as he's one of my best mates.

4 handed, Im button, SB is a drunk and my mate is BB.

I have £150, the sb has about £90 and my mate covers us both.

I have 5s 5c. My mate has Ah 8h.

I raise £4 pre, and get called by both blinds.

Flop is 2h 5d 7h. I bet £8, SB raises to £25, my friend shoves. Obv I snap, SB then folds.

What do we think to my friends shove?

Hate the friend's shove unless SB can bluff raise a crap-ton of flops 3-handed in a 4-handed game. When he ships he's not getting called by things he has higher equity against (like a pair of 7s). IE doubt he ever has 2 clean overs, and likely needs the flush to win when called (prob realistically < 35% equity), given there is a bet and a raise in front of him, and 2 to act behind.

Just don't think there will be enough in the pot when he's called to justify the shove, and don't think he can expect much FE, if any.

1. How much did he have you both covered by?

2. How drunk was the sb?

lol but scourge its a BTN open and cbet.. YGM never has anything much here and his flop stacking range should be pretty tight so imo the shoves fine.

+ the drunk has a bunch of air and 1 pair hands that we (Villain has equity against)

I hate flatting and the drunk will raise call off worse FD's.

my God you lot are nitty.

AND ITS 4 HANDED? Scourge are you kidding me that you hate his shove here? really?

It was 2:30am and I haven't been sleeping for shit lately, so my brain was probably off. Ignore me. Wasn't thinking about 4-handed/position etc.

F*** I really need to start sleeping again. >.<

Im not sure about it really. I was with scourges first thought. Is he really getting enough FE from a fish that was calling everything?

Yeah I'm honestly unsure, and I don't think it's "obvious" or clearly correct. But do we love flatting in his shoes?

not with stacksizes, fish has got like £60 into a £60 pot, plus when we brick turns we have to fold rivers and as I said he's calling off with worse so much too.

he's drunk, when he raise calls off with 86o and he have A8h we love life..

even if YGM has JJ here he can't call too often.

Yeah he ran into a monster on this occasion, but vs the SB, and with your 'dead money' (well he wasn't to know! lol) it's not a bad play is it.

would you?

bet raise 3bet shoves don't happen with worse often enough.. even if he's effectively shoving $40.

Hmm. I guess JJ is pushing it? But for all the reasons you said before, why it's good to shove the FD for the BB, shouldn't we then be calling with JJ?

we should be, but since we don't know he's shoving nut FD's yet we have to fold.

if we knew he was capable then yeah we can call off but we don't, thats why his shove is so good because YGM has to have the nuts to call off here.

tbh though TT-AA = the same here since he's never flatting and then stacking like JJ 4 handed so its sick for overpairs.

If they're buddies I would think we'd know that? But I guess maybe not. Depends on how much they've played together.

I agree that TT basically = AA. Just no reason for BB to go crazy with an overpair post after flatting pre. Overpair confirmed sick here.

Agreed. And even when you tank call with JJ you're flipping. Nothing wrong with BB's play here at all given the circumstances.

I hope when he shoved he shouted "GAMBLE!" :)

well I can't really compare because only live games I've played with a friend is Ducky, which makes JJ a snap here

but as Cafe said, we're flipping and flipping unnecessarily at that.

call if you like variance, which is why his line is so sexy because even if you think he's capable you're never happy calling off.

Im snapping JJ so so fast here. I knew he was on a FD when he shoved.

My point is not related to me but that drunk guy hadnt raised like that before and was very likely to call off. Thats why I think its not so great, cos he doesnt get much FE. I think drunk guy only folded because I insta called.

Edit: even when we are flipping theres £205 in the pot and we're calling £150. I'll take that.

Tbf, you didn't mention the bolded part in the OP as a raise. But also, I'm gonna shut up before I say anything else stupid ITT. :D

So SB has been splashing about but not aggro until now; meh that doesn't change things too much imo once your mate shuts you out of the pot which is what he was hoping to do I imagine. When I said about flipping with JJ I meant that particular hand, but unless your mate is a nutter presumably his range here isn't just draws?

Anyhoo, I don't mind his play and there we are :)
