Ugly river card. Your line looks good to me. I think you played it just fine.

Looks fine as played pf (I raise more on the flop and bet more on turn though), but I don't like having to resort to flatting big pairs unless I have a TON of hands that say he folds to 3bets even more.

If his f3b is really that high then that means I'm 3betting the hell out of him with almost ATC, and hopefully he's adjusted to it when we pick up our actual value hands. I find people tend to adjust until their f3b reaches like %90; that's when they're truly muppets and only continue with QQ+/AK/whatever.

Ditto.
Don't flat AA to exploit this guy. 3bet 59o instead and watch carefully for how/if he adjusts.

Great advice guys.

My pf fantasy at the time involved the shorty SB as well as villain - I was hoping he'd squeeze. Bad idea.

I've been making a lot of these 2.5x flop raises and have been keeping them smaller, since I've been doing this with both air and with strength - I used to always raise to pot size, changed that about 3 weeks ago because I've been doing it more frequently with air - thoughts?

So maybe we've been 3 betting him already which is how we've got this stat? In which case flatting is because we've now got a big hand?

Also, I'm thinking that since we're CO rather than button maybe makes flatting more attractive given that we've got 3 players behind, especially if we happen to have a blind that likes to squeeze?

Realistically this all depends on how your opponent thinks. Just saying he has a %X fold to 3bet is only one piece of the puzzle. Sample size, our history with him, the positions of the opens and 3bets, whether he's 4bet or called the times he's not folded v a 3bet, etc all factor in to our 'formula'.

As a general rule, I'm only really flatting AA/KK if I know he folds %90+ to 3bets, and as such probably isn't adjusting (most who fold that often, don't).

Most of the time though you don't see players like that, and they eventually adjust to you by 4betting or flatting hands like AJ and JTs and stuff that just won't be profitable for them.

Also, I'm thinking that since we're CO rather than button maybe makes flatting more attractive given that we've got 3 players behind, especially if we happen to have a blind that likes to squeeze?

Very valid point.

Something to be noted is that this should almost always be a flat if we're utg vs utg+1 for those same reasons, plus the fact that our range for 3betting would look insanely strong and he'd fold probably %95+ of the time.

People obviously open wider and wider in LP, and as such we'll be 3betting wider, so I'm more inclined to just 3bet it. This is kind of an in-between spot, and it depends on metagame and stuff.

As balugawhale would say, 'AA coolers so many hands', so we should be inclined to just 3bet (or 4bet) it most of the time instead of getting tricky.

Also very valid, but misapplied here imo.

That should be saved for dry boards where ranges are very 'hit or miss'. In other words, there's no peeling with middle pair or a draw because they're getting a good price.

On this board, as a bluff:

-we want to be able to rep a big draw and raise big
-we want to be able to fold out Tx,JJ-QQ

for value:

-it's wetter, so more hands will call
-we want to get as much money in before a kill card drops

...so we raise bigger.

I think it's OK. I don't mind flatting as long as you can reasonably hope someone squeezes behind you. If the river hadn't completed the flushdraw (but still paired the king) I would have liked a value bet but here I think checking back is fine.

Good thought, something I hadn't thought of. Though that assumes a decently aggressive table so you don't end up 4 handed at the flop. Not something you want to carry to 10nl FR. Or the 1/2 tables live. :)

I'd like to start exploiting that Fv3bet % so that when you get your real hands, you can 3bet for value.

On the flop I'd raise a little bigger as well.

Other than that I like the way it was played.
