I think check/calling until you hit a king or a spade is fine. Here's why:

You're essentially committed on this flop. It's going to be extremely hard for you to find a fold anywhere when you have 11 outs. So since you're prepared to play for stacks (doesn't mean you have to be happy about it) if it comes to that, you should look for the way of getting the most money in with the best possible equity.

Checking to induce a bet from worse is one way of doing that, especially if he fit-or-folds flops. Betting to induce a raise is another way, but I don't think he'll raise very often on this board. And when he does raise, I expect his range to be polarized between hands that are drawing virtually dead (and that will give up if you don't) and hands that have you in bad shape (e.g. 88 and JsTs and Ts9s, AQ). And you don't want him to be in a position where he can easily give up the hands that you crush while simultaneously managing to get a bunch of money in with hands that beat you.

Given your history, I think you may well end up check/calling three streets all-in, and it's going to feel super-weak and passive. Pot odds will probably prevent you from folding at any point though, and if you put in a raise anywhere without improving to a flush or a set, I don't think you'll get value out of worse anywhere, and I especially don't think you'll manage to get him to fold top pair in a 3-bet pot.

Okay this thread would be pretty much dead if it wasn't for FP, so I'll show what happened on the flop to see if this can be revived...

*** FLOP *** [As Qs 8s]
txiago: checks
Targhee: bets $8
txiago: calls $8
*** TURN *** [As Qs 8s] [Kh]

Super small bet, makes me think he doesn't have much but I don't think raising is good... turn is super nice to me, what now?

I had wrote a book but it went and im steaming so here is the short version.

You must start to get more money in the pot now before a cooler card comes. If he mad a flush or straight by the turn then not to worry, you still have 9 outs on the river and i couldn't see many people chucking away a set of kings especially with you holding a spade.

So bet about 1/2 the pot and call any sensible reraise, but shove to any raise that would pot commit you any way.

Hopefully he will see this as a steal or that your drawing dead and try to take it away from you.

Good card. I agree with leading out here, and just above halfpot would do. The idea behind it is to make him think he can call profitably (if he has, say, the Js) and also to make you look like you have a weak made hand that is betting to protect against the flush. You really want to get the rest of the money in on the turn, but openshoving probably isnt the best way to achieve that. Leading out will at least get SOME money in versus most of his hands (I doubt he'd fold A9 or similar hands to a halfpot bet), and gives him a chance to bluff. He may even raise a weaker hand for value (88, QQ, A8, AK, AQ) so go ahead and try to get money in.
