This was the other night in 100NL. 1st hand of session & had pkt kings slid to me in the BB. Flop was dry...

My questions are:

Preflop: Should I 4-bet more here or is bet sizing good?

Flop: I have $72 left behind after flop - how much do I bet here? Get it in?

He called you with hands like JJ, 1010, AK, AQ, maybe QQ, but QQ 6max can go all in preflop. So the flop is good no draws for the players, so you should bet like 24$ and then 48$ on river.

I would bet around 40 to 45 percent of the pot on the flop which would leave us enough to shove on the turn. Don't shove on the flop right away. :p

You've made quite a big 4-bet there. I belive that something like 24 would had been enough and could had helped you with the betsize postflop.

Anyway. What kind of player calls a 4-bet at 100NL?

When I first saw the raise I though it whas good, and the sizing. But now I think I changed my mind a bit. But it all depends if your opponents are thinking players or not. If they are you could make a strong argument that raising here will not get much action from worst hands.

When UTG raises he shows alot of strength, he will be OOP for the entiere hand and he still wants to play. When the BTN raises the UTG he proves even more strength becuse he raises the guy that allready proves alot of strength. And when you raise them you are most likly holding QQ+.

This will turn your hand face up and they will likely fold AQ or JJ (BTN might call with JJ). Now if you only call, will you not put your range faceup? Idk, maybe you will? would you ever flat AK here? or AQ? Its a hard spot. But anyways I dont think your 4Bet is bad, just that its important that you keep this in mind. They are most likely not thinking players and will 5Bet or call with JJ-QQ AQ+.

OTF: Now I am not sure if this is a good spot for you or not. You will need to get it in 100% of the time obw because SPR = ca 1:1. You could go for the trap and check and hope for him to have something like TT-JJ or maybe AJ and get sticky. Or you just go for the most standard thing and raise maybe 1/2 pot, Or whatever you would raise with AK or 99-TT because thats what you want him to think you got.

I dont think the size is important in an other way than what you are representing because you will get it all-in OTT even if you only bet $30 here.

Good luck! :)

In UTG 4-bet spots I increase my normal 4-bet sizing so I can shove most flops if I'm about 100 bbs deep. So something like 31 pre here. Normally my 4-bet sizing is closer to 22-26ish.

But anyways, I'd bet $15 OTF because it doesn't really matter at this point and you might as well give him a chance to spaz out.

this post shows good thinking imo.

you have options when it comes to bet-sizing, but a few of the things you want to think about generally are:
1) what immediate calling odds am i giving my opponent?
here villain is getting almost 3:1 on his call and he has position. it's hard for him to fold much.

2) what depth am i left with on the flop if called?
here you have a little over pot behind ($72 behind with $62.50 in pot). that's ok, but if you had made your preflop raise to $34 instead, you'd be jamming $66 into $74 on the flop which is preferable imo.
