I'm not even sure if it is that thin. He is generally quite aggressive. I thought an overpair was unlikely given I would expect him to double barrel or 3bet preflop, maybe 10s wouldn't I don't know. I also wouldn't expect the king to hit him. I thought it looked like a weak pair?

why wouldn't you bet the turn?

as played river bet is fine i think.

It was for pot control. I thought that it would be safer going for value on flop and river rather than bet all three streets...

He's way more likely to put money in behind on the turn than the river.
