I'm fairly new to cash games and would like some advice to help me improve. I flopped a straight, and turned a straight flush. I didn't want to bet and scare him off, but I don't know if that's the best play in this situation.

Sometimes, when your opponent has 77 on this board, you just don't make any money.

Bet the turn.

Flop a straight with a redraw to a king high flush. Life is good. Since you are out of position and called, the raise, checking the flop to the raiser is standard. It sucks that it got checked back.

You have to bet the turn. Villain has to have something to call. Betting the turn may get a call from a draw. If he folds he folds.

Nobody's going to put you on a straight flush here, they just don't happen often enough. Flop is good, but as said before you gotta bet the turn for value to allow for a potential river bet. You can definitely get value from Qx, flushes, and regulars straights here, as well as probably some draws and overpairs. If they have a crap hand their gonna fold when you bet the river anyways so there isn't really much harm in betting the turn.

Cool, thank you for your answers. Chances are this will never happen again but I can adapt it to other situations
