I just flopped a set of 7's and this board comes, Now I realize by posting here that most of the times, when I have a set, I'm a bit too much afraid of flush draw and am trying to take them out. I feel like I didn't get as much value for this hand as I could have... Maybe just calling his raise since he's already drawing without odds by raising me and he might probably have an overpair or TPTK...

What do you think about it ?

TIA,

I'm a bit confused by the history here. It says that you bet on flop then there were 2 folds between you and the guy to your immediate left, which is obviously impossible. I'm going to comment assuming the only fold (before your 3-bet) on the flop was the button after MP3's raise.

MP3's stats peg him as average-passive which means when he raises on the flop he's probably got something, and not just a pure bluff. His call preflop could mean a suited connector or Ace, low or mid pocket pair, or maybe 2 decent broadway (including suited).

On the flop, his raise means he has something at least somewhat strong. Given his fold to your 3-bet the most likely hands he had there were flush draw, or weak top pair.

I like the flop bet because you could be seen as just making a C-bet and they might raise or call you somewhat light (which MP3 does). The problem with his raise is that it's small, just over a min raise. I tend to believe here that he won't continue because while that raise is showing strength, it's not so large that he couldn't get away to a 3-bet.

So, 2 things to sum up. First, while I think some hands are good to post the results with, this one isn't. By showing us what you did and that he folded to your 3-bet, we may be biased in our answer (which I think I am). Second, MP3 likes his hand but not so much that he will commit. Therefore, I recommend raising smaller to maybe 4.5. You take the risk he outdraws you but you get him to call more often.

As played I think it is fine, you really want to re raise with the two to a flush on the board. If a club comes on the turn, it will either cost you the hand if he is drawing or kill your action with overcards. I would play it the same.

Just calling his flop min-raise would be really really bad. And no one folds TPTK or an overpair at these stakes to a re-raise. So just cram a bunch of money in there and be happy about it.

I would never just call his raise there is a flush and straight draw out there. I think you played it fine, although I think you should bet a little more on the flop like $1.

only JJ beats u on the flop
opp has not a flush-draw - he would not reraise if he had.
I prefer to slowplay a set - just call 3 bet flop & move all on the next streets
