I should just fold there right? Yes I know its rush and I can fold and get a new hand, but lets just put that aside for a second. With people left to act behind me I can't justify calling, and I don't think re-raising because it's just jacks right? So it is correct just to fold this because I am likely beat with someone putting that much money in the pot preflop?

I don't think you're dominated by his range, I've only played 1.6k hands of rush but the people buying in short were doing all sorts of freaky things. But commiting 60bb pre-flop with JJ isn't good, I think you're about even money against his range (guessing 99+/AK).

It's shove or fold (to avoid high card flops, where he can shove and you lose your equity against smaller pairs), and it's a close enough decision that I'd fold and move on to the next hand.

I was actually raising JJ or if someone raised before me I was calling to set mine/play an overpair if they showed weakness. Definately not 3betting or calling 3bets unless I had odds, maybe I just suck at rush poker but that's my appraoch.

I think this is really close. On one hand I tend to find these odd stacks are generally really horrible so he could certainly have much worse (probably 77+/AQs+). On the other hand every time I get it in here I see KK+.

I really don't think you're losing anything folding and it's probably the best play.

Curious if that's a good way to think about it...

Is sqeezing popular at 10NL?

I was about to say I shove with a smile on my face before realizing sqeezing may not be as prevalent at 10NL.

Pretty huge bet for a squeeze don't you think? Also my guess is that someone playing a 60bb stack at 10nl thinks a squeeze is what you do to the Charmin.

I actually only looked at this thread again because I was expecting to get flamed for suggesting set mining with jacks. Glad you agree

I think in normal cash games jacks are obviously a little too strong to set mine. Only against people who 3bet like 5% (or less) of the time should jacks stop being raised for value (which at $10nl isn't that uncommon and getting stacks in pre-flop with JJ is generally horribly -EV) but if they'll call/raise your 4bet with a range of like 5% or more then JJ is definately way too strong to setmine.
I think it's different in rush because so many people play so nitty pre-flop (but curiously once they find a hand they want to play, they don't fold) that jacks aren't ahead very often when the money goes in pre-flop (nor do they have fold equity, because like I said, when people find a hand they don't fold much). The only time I think JJ is ahead in a 3bet pot is blind vs button where all sorts of crazy raising is going on, in which case it'd be an automatic shove with JJ.

This could all be way off, definately the 5% 3bet/4bet calling ranges are probably a couple % off. Just offering my opinion in case anyone finds it useful or wants to correct me.

Folding was the correct (but painful) play ... at best you are up against 2 overcrads, at worst, you are dominated ... unless the person was a complete donk you were facing

yea i dont think he would bet so much preflop with nothing less than a monster. QK KK AK AA AK are all hands that could easily beat JJ so a fold would be the right move unless you'd like to gamble nd see what he has

Yeah I folded and then the other 2 behind me fold and the late pos alliner won preflop. One thing I have noticed is that these shortstacks are playing crazy soemtimes, so its hard to tell if they have the nuts, or if they are just donks. But I'm guessng he had something to push like that, and JJ vs AK or AQ on any 2 higher cards than a jack he could outflop me. I would rather play postflop i believe. But the thing is I have had AA or KK in similar situations in multiway pots where dons have caled with AJo QKo even had 22 push utg wih me in BB with KK lol. And the 22 was a half stacker also.
