re: Poker & $10 NLHE Full Ring: Is this play fine against this opponent?
I dont like it, i don't really understand it that's maybe why. What was your plan with the hand?
Seems like you just bet because you wanted to win the pot and didn't know how to best achieve it looking at the randomness of the play.
When i see fish doing this min raise thing its usually big pretty cards like Ax, broadways and pocket pairs and stuff, so unless your read is totally different why are you donking into a range you think has you beat? What is his 3bet percentage? If he's doing this with any combiation of broadways then he's never going anywhere when you donk an AJx flop as any combination of broadways "hits" it. Looks like all you're hoping to do with this hand is make him fold a hand like 77 (if he even min 3bets them?) Which is turning the best hand into a bluff.
Calling the 3bet oop is fine, we have good odds
and when we hit a set im sure he stacks off with his Ax broadways which hit a lot of the time too, so we have implied odds. I'd just ch/fold the flop though here we dont need to win everyone, stick to a plan.
