Villian Stats (VPIP/PFR/AF): 26/14/4

What are your thoughts on this hand? Villain seems to win at showdown a fair amount. Is quite passive and rarely folds. He is also quite loose and raised 86s UTG. Although this is deepstacked 250bb ante game so maybe that is expected?

Should I have been raising his bets? The only hand that was worrying me was pocket 10s...

Passive, rarely folds, wins a lot = a heater he is just getting good hands.

Preflop.. fine.

Flop.. your raise is fine, his reraise sends a few alarm bells (passive people do not raise with weak hands) but his raise size is small enough to call.

Turn lead for about $1.50 fold to a reraise

River Lead again for about $2.50, again fold to a reraise.

As played, when a passive player bets 3 streets you arent usually ahead.

When you check, he never bluffs, he is passive but as your hand has SD value (he cold have KJ KQ etc).

When you take bet/fold lines you control the pot size. If he raises the your turn bet you can get away from the hand there.

If he flats the turn and you lead the river, again you control the pot size and ensure you get value, you wouldnt want him to check back.

By the same token you dont want him to choose the size of the bet.

Just look at the river alone. You bet 1/2pot if he has a hand he raises and you still get away from the hand for less than you paid when calling his bet.

If he has a king you get value by betting, if he has a jack or some PP he might then check it through meaning you lose value.

The problem with taking Check call lines is you lose control of the hand, you end up calling bigger bets than you would make yourself and lose value the times he checks through.

If he has a big hand he will raise your turn bet, by not betting the turn you have less idea of where you are on the river.
