Here's a tough situation with a guy that I have no read on except that he has a big stack of chips

full tilt poker Game #26996193755: Table Mach 10 - $0.05/$0.10 - No Limit Hold'em - 08:55:02 ET - 2011/01/05
Seat 1: Maa40 ($7.74)
Seat 2: kruglay ($19.19)
Seat 3: Ezekuiel ($3.90)
Seat 4: krissab ($4.86)
Seat 5: gonchar64 ($10.20)
Seat 6: dtydad ($17.13)
Seat 7: msvfirle ($2.19)
Seat 8: alekseychuy ($12.33)
Seat 9: pcgnome ($10.14)
Maa40 posts the small blind of $0.05
kruglay posts the big blind of $0.10
The button is in seat #9
*** HOLE CARDS ***
Dealt to pcgnome [Kh Ac]
Ezekuiel folds
krissab folds
gonchar64 folds
dtydad folds
msvfirle folds
alekseychuy folds
pcgnome raises to $0.30
Maa40 folds
kruglay raises to $1.10
pcgnome calls $0.80
*** FLOP *** [6s 4h 7d]
kruglay has 15 seconds left to act
kruglay bets $1.40

Lousy flop...All I have is AK high, but he could be bluffing. I was on the button, and I could have raised 4X the big blinds. I wanted to see the flop, and I wanted to be certain that this person would at least call.

Seriously 4 bet pre. Simply because you have a stronger hand pre-flop and barring stats you crush their NL10 standard ranges. Calling is bad IMO because it forces you to play 3 handed on the flop which is generally not a good idea with AK. As played fold.

Also why is this listed a 6max in the thread title.

lol fun thread. Convert your hand OP. I wouuld call the flop and fold to a turn cbet, bet myself if he checks. Most people don't dbl barrel air in a 3bet pot.

I would call the flop and fold to a turn cbet, bet myself if he checks.

1) What portion of his range do you think is air?
2) Why are you betting the turn if he checks?

Thhe name of the table is lightning. It was a 6-man rush table, and I agree that I should have 4-bet.

1) We need to know how often he 3-bets, that's true, and he's unknown. A reg with 7-8% 3bet would most likely cbet all their range here. But we shouldn't jump to conclusions with an unknown as I did.

2) If the turn is not a diam nor a 5 it's a thin value bet but mostly to pick up the dead money. Overpairs we expect to bet again so once he checks he should have mostly Ax, broadways, SCs - depending on how much he 3bets.
