Did I do wrong by going all in? How can I prevent getting in situations like this in the future? I always seem to lose like this. I get chips playing in the tables and end up going broke.

Pre-flop is a 3bet or fold deal I think. We can flat here but we are only dominating half of the hands the raiser opens i.e. AJ-AK dominate us and we dominate JT-KT. We want to avoid getting in situations where we are dominated because we'll lose far more when we hit that pair.

The second reason to 3 bet or fold is if we call, the likelihood of someone in the cutoff or button squeezing is increased. It's not a huge factor but definitely makes this hand less flat-able.

On the flop we have top pair top kicker, on a board where sets, straights and two pair are fairly likely. Not to mention Jx also has significant equity against us. When you raise you fold out everything that you beat except maybe Jx including JT and get jammed on by everything beats you.

If the villain is likely to fire two barrels, I would be tempted to just fold the flop. Without info, I'd like to peel one street to see if he slows down.

Don't flat ATo unless you're playing against a fish.

Don't raise the flop, as played, fold the flop. It's probably pretty close between fold/call now that you raised, but I think w/o info it's probably still a narrow fold.

He would probably call a 3 bet with his hand. The flop would still consist of a fold or call, correct?

Yea, so to prevent this situation try not to go crazy with top pair, top kicker (on any board honestly, but esp this one). U can call on the flop, but can't love ur hand (hoping it gets checked down). Also, when u go all in try to think about what kinds of hands are going to call u... More often than not here, hands that beat u. Badly.

If he had called a 3bet then we would have initiative. They would likely check to us and we would bet and fold to a raise. If they donked into us, then I would peel one street.
