I bet flop bigger to start with, I bet turn as well. then river decision is easier.

No, and you're giving him less credit, which may be quite prudent but then just c/f turn if his range is as completely depolarized as you think it is. Just bet/fold turn and river or give up after flop, c/c c/f (on river blank) is the nut worst line you can take.

Well I put him on a set which is why I folded, probably queens or tens. I don't quite understand if people think my fold was wrong or not.

Checking the turn is terrible and c/c c/f is even worse. You would be well served by never checking the turn or river with the intention of calling.

BTw if you think he flats pre with KK and stacks off with a range of sets and KK, just ship it in.

What range are you giving him when he flats the 3bet pre?

Apologies missed the 3b pre. I'm fine getting it in here even though he probably turns up with a set a high %age of the time and KK on occasions.

I would 3bet more preflop. I would make it 4x or $1.20 being OOP. From there I would just bet, bet, shove with 100bb effective stacks and get it in at any point if he raised. If you don't feel comfortable playing a big pot here for whatever reason then I would just check/fold the turn. Calling the turn in order to fold the river is very very bad for your winrate.

Probably should've shoved river because if you check it automatically shows your hand is weak.. which it isn't..

Yeah I called the turn to fold the river which was a bad idea, for some reason I was hoping he just wouldn't bet the river. Because he was on the button, I thought he might not be taking my raises as seriously so would scare check the river but I was totally wrong. I think in future, bigger pre flop raise, followed by a bet on flop and turn because as people said, I can then fold the river if he shoves.

bet 12xBB pre (pot 25BB)
bet 22xBB on flop (pot 69BB)
bet all in on turn for 70BB.

how are you ever folding river if your line is 3-bet/bet/bet? Even if you bet smaller you still only have 10BB left or whatever so you couldn't fold on the river if the line was 3-bet/bet/bet.

You didn't get a response but could you explain what you think his range would be.

I think 88s+ AQ, AK, are his range perhaps wider because of the stakes but I don't like to label people fishes too easily.
