Sometimes Jacks are difficult for me. Villain is new to the table. Turn and river raises at these stakes usually end up being really strong hands. How was my play here?

This well known poker quote comes to mind "There are lots of ways to play JJ here and they are all wrong"
Personally as things get so difficult post flop with jacks I like to push hard with JJ preflop to really find out the strength of the hand im up against. Here we are against an unknown so he could have anything. It is well established that the hands that call 3bets tend to play well and have plenty of equity against JJ. Just calling keeps in lots of smaller pairs that you dominate but you have less information.
As played you tested him on the flop instead, where it cost you 15bb + your preflop 4.5 to find out where you were as opposed to 10bb-12 if you had 3bet pre.
As played im checking the turn after the overcard and possible flush draw appears I don't have any good reason to think im ahead and am not going to create a big pot with a small hand

A quote from a Harrington cash games book.
"The more strength you can force him to show in response to your bets, the more confidence you can have in letting the hand go later on."
So as played perhaps a bigger raise on the flop was required. You are only asking him to call 9bb to play for a pot of 30ish bb. No half decent holding is going away to those pot odds.
A CR should be matching his bet then full pot so here 22bb would be my preferred sizing. If he calls that then you can extract yourself from the hand comfortable in the knowledge you are beaten.

Villain has yet to play a hand. I'm fine with flatting pre. I also flat the flop, and check behind the turn.

I personally think you played it fine till the flop. If we raise the flop and get called and then when :qs4: hits on the turn we should check behind.

The turn card is an over card to our pair plus it completes a flush draw. So i will just check behind and hope that villain checks the river too because i would like to see villain's hand so we get valuable information on what he/she called our raise on the flop with.

Player specific information about how they play will help us in adjusting our game to exploiting their weakness plus give us some confidence with our play as opposed to being up against an unknown quantity. :)

I lost much also with JJ.

Personally, you played just fine.

Whats good here, you have to be careful with JJ which you just did.
