This hand came up during a recent online session. I am in the SB and Villian is UTG+2. The game so far has played fairly typical, many folds PF with raises tending to be heavily weighted to suited aces (A9+), suited broadway, and PPs and people haven't been trappy with big PP, like AA or KK (trying to get it in PF). Villian has played a style similar to this so far. I have been getting a lot of good hands in this session and playing more than normal and playing with a raise or fold PF mentality, so not much 3-betting in this session from me. I get black pocket jacks in the SB.

Starting Stacks:
Hero $26.93
Villian $6.04

Everyone folds to Villian, who raises to $0.45. The CO calls, Button folds and I 3-bet to $2. BB folds, UTG2 calls, and CO folds.

Flop: Qh 2h 7s (Pot $4.55)

I check, UTG2 shoves for $4.04

How would you respond in this situation? Is this a spot where calling off with JJ be advisable, getting better than 2:1 and considering that players hadn't been trapping with AA and KK in this session, or should I be concerned that my stack at this point (~250BB) makes trapping more attractive compared to the other stacks at the table (~100BB)? All opinions welcome

Preflop I just flat with JJ vs UTG + 2 raise. JJ isn't doing well against his continuing range, and having JJ with another caller boosts your implied odds.

Flop is close. Calling/folding should be both pretty close in EV. He has some slowplayed AA/KK, some QQ/AQ/KQs. But also some heart draws, none of which you are blocking. And of course some airballs like A high that jammed because you showed weakness. Don't think it matters if you call here or not.

I really appreciate the range suggestion you provided, which was not something I had considered before posting here. I just used PokerStove and found that I'm a little under breakeven if his range is only TP+ (77+,22, AQ, KQ). If he adds just one hand I can beat (AK, TT, or any flush draws), calling becomes profitable here. Of course, I'm not sure if Villian would have that extra hand, so this spot is much closer than I originally thought. In the future, I know in this spot I can call getting profitably getting 7:3 or better. Thanks MinhANguyen for making me consider this.
