4 folds, MP2 raises to $0.40, 3 folds, Hero calls $0.30

Flop: ($0.85) T 2 8 (2 players)
Hero checks, MP2 checks

Turn: ($0.85) A (2 players)

Have about 100 hands on villian. Looks like a tight set miner type. Running ~9/4.

Question: do you like the planned check/call on the flop, fold to continued agression on the turn w/out an overcard? Would you donk on the flop in this situation? Why?

Thanks.

I don't like the check on the flop. I would bet that.

Since villain has less than 40bb i probably just 3bet/call this one pre even though he is really tight. He prob still stacks TT, 99, AK, AQ. After flatting pre Id prob ch/r get it in on that board, just b/c stacks are so shallow. On the turn Id just ch/f.

Thanks for the input. I applied what you suggested and it's been working out profitably vs the shorties lately. Seems like a good counter strategy to turn the tables and apply pressure on them with a made hand/ovp.
