Villian Stats (VPIP/PFR/AF): 28/20/2

I thought I'd post a hand that's been bugging me. I folded this hand but in hindsight I think that was probably a bad decision. Would love some feedback, thanks.

No flushes or straights out there, so the only hands that beat you are full houses. So you could be beat here by AK, TT, 66, or 88. He probably doesn't have 88 given the CR on flop and bet on turn. However, he could easily have a lesser Ace. I can't really understand why you decided to fold here. There are a grand total of only 3 realistic hands that can beat you (unless I'm missing something). Did you have a read on him that made you think this fold was good, or was it just his aggressive betting on this hand?

Sorry, I forgot to include AT, A6, or A8 in the hands that beat you. Still, I just can't see folding here, personally.

I'm not folding the river when it bricks out, nor am I betting a flop with that many gutshots so small.

That said, I probably fold the flop. Villain's stats aren't careless, and top pair 2nd kicker isn't a hand I wanna go to war with against a good player who is happy about his hand. Especially when AT, 66, TT, maybe AK, and the big draws all have great equity against us.

During that particular session I'd taken a lot of bad beats, so I think my confidence had dropped to the point where I resigned myself to losing any big hands I got involved in. It's amazing how much your mindset affects your decision making.

Out of curiosity I looked at that session on HEM and seven out of ten of my most losing hands I held AQ. If I wasn't convinced before AQ was a troublesome hand, I am now.

i dont see why the checkraise unless he has AT or 66, he could have a flush draw, either way, i think you've made a good fold, if he had the draw he played all right too

From my read, he is holding Ax.

AK would be the reasonable hand his holding and all other Axs, you beat (except of course AT and A6).

Tough decision. Law of averages, I call.

He probably doesn't have AK because he would have 3b pre.. check raises on the flop usually are strong, I think you made a good laydown.

Check raises from strong players on the flop usually mean a set.. unless this player is very balanced.

You could call but I would expect to lose the majority of the time here.

I probably fold the flop. Full ring sucks and I hate playing it because it ends up being so nitty.
