It's a limped pot which makes it a bit trickier, doubtful there is any big value if you hit your draw anyway.

I would have played the same as you. Playing draws oop is very hard, if you lead flop and the turn misses, what is your next move? Check raising in a limped pot probably not ideal.

Had it been a raised pot I might lead out flop and give up on turn.

Hand was played fine i believe....If you dont hit your draw its most likely you wont have the better hand and you can simply get away from the pot with no damage done...str8 draws are 30% to hit...your better off taking a free card trying to hit and hoping your oppositon pays you off..perfectly fine with the way the hand was played
