Ok so I think it's fairly obvious he's got AA or KK here. My question is, is the shove correct on the turn? Or should I bet ~$10 to entice him to call/reraise me?

Nope, looks fine to me. He's probably not changing his calling range much from when you bet $19 vs when you bet $10, and it creates really awkward river sizing. Shoving's %100 fine.

edit: to be honest I think there's merit to shoving the flop too. In general villain is either bluffing or has a hand he's willing to stack with (in which case we're generally ahead). If he's 3betting the flop with a flush draw he almost never folds to a shove, even though he's usually not getting odds to do so, and we save ourselves from getting outdrawn or losing action on a dry turn (if we 4bet flop and villain flats, then turn comes an offsuit K for ex, he may get away from a shove on our end). Our shoving looks more like a draw to him too, in which case he's NEVER folding an overpair, and we don't get potential action-killers like this turn, just in case he actually can get away from his hand.

Then again he could do something weird like bet/3bet 99 here and fold to a shove, but I'm not %100 sure of how often he does this and whether he'll be able to fold if we shove.

Just food for thought.

Excellent insight as always Chuck. Tyvm. I was considering shoving the flop, but with such deep stacks I thought he might lay down a big PP to that sort of action.

I think you played it fine but I also think you're getting calls if you shove the flop. A lot of people think that a big overbet shove like that is always a FD looking for max FE. I don't think even the most monster under the bed fearing fish folds a big pair to a flop shove.

I agree WVHillbilly. Often an overshove w/ a draw on board is iffy to call with TP, but with an overpair, it is very difficult for a villain not to call. I think you might have been able to shove preflop, but I prefer the way you played it.

Guys, what is with the comments? Did I say something wrong? Is it not clear? Given that WVHillbilly said essentially what I would have said, I just said something short. Was that wrong?

Let me know. But the 'lol and 'ಠ_ಠ' stuff isn't helpful....

Pretty sure this is what was funny. I do hope you meant the flop.
Ahhhhh.....that's for the correction WVHillbilly. Definitely meant on the flop.

I was just concerned that my logic was HORRIBLY wrong and was not given a reason why.

My mistake....

Ughh this is a great hand. I'll try to remember to shove the flop in these situations, I lost action alot on the turn as well.

Any merit on raise-shoving the flop on continuation bets with sets (not this hand, assuming 100bb stacks) when we think villain's rainges are tight, mostly over pairs?
