I'm playing on Bovada, so no stat's or long term reads. I've been at the table 45 minutes or so, and have won .8 buy-ins (80 BB) through decent cards, and lots of post flop aggression. The table as a whole is pretty loose-passive, but some players have shown hints that they can make adjustments.

Average stack is 100-120 BB, with one fishy short stack at 25-30 BB.

I pick up AA in the BB, but face 5 limpers including both the fishy short stack, and one of the possibly intelligent players.

I over bet the pot to 11 BB (6 BB currently in.) Which I now think was about the worst possible play I could have made. 4 players called, wah, wah...

Flop comes 799 rainbow, and I check folded to a .4x pot bet, with no other callers, but 1 player left to act behind me. Last player folded and the better took the pot.

Pre-flop
I have no clue why I over bet the amount I did. Total brainfart. I rarely ever vary my pre-flop bet size. From the blinds a standard raise for me is pot+1 BB. So in this case it would have been a raise to 7BB, not 11. But I still feel like that would have been a terrible move too. The way the table was playing I was still sure to get multiple callers, all with position on me. Not good. So, do I...
- Limp along and play strictly for set (and the rare 4-card nut flush) value? Or,
- Shove all-in, thinking that even a fairly loose/passive table like this isn't going to yield more than 1 possibly 2 calls pre-flop when stacks are 100+BB?

On the Fop
I had promised myself when I raised that if I got a bunch of callers I wouldn't put more chips in unless I was positive I was ahead. In hind sight, with no other callers, and the other guy left to act having already checked, I probably should have called the .4x. Both me and the bettor would still have had ~140 BB behind, with 80 or so BB in the pot. Probably worth at least 1 call to see what happened on the turn. Thoughts?

Standard for cash game is usually 3x the BB + 1 for each limper. So if you had 5 limpers you'd be raising like 8 BBs. However, you are out of position so 11 BBs to isolate from out of position is not necessarily bad.

You really want as many callers as you can get with AA. Building up the pot so it's easier to stack a loose calling station. 799r rainbow flop doesn't seem that bad honestly. Someone could have been betting to "protect" their 7x hand. Only really hands that has you crushed obviously is 77, 9x, (A9s, T9s, 98s, etc.)

As played I wouldn't mind a call on the flop. To evaluate the turn.

Pre flop raise is fine- they are all making bad equity mistakes against AA and if they want to do that then OK. The flop is actually pretty good. Check-calling flop seems to be a fine line. You could also just bet flop and get it in. That wouldn't be the worst thing either.
