I get dealt AA in MP2 and decide to raise as always with pocket rockets, I get called by MP3, who is also playing on 12 tables at the same time so I don't see him on a tricky play, and BB with problably TT+ or AJ+, AK is possible as well as high suited connectors. On the flop There is not much problem, I still have an overpair and maybe one of them hit top pair (Now I gotta say I'm afraid of the set and THIS is a major leak, I don't play as aggressively because someone MIGHT have a set, Ideas anyone or should I just think to myself that sets are rare ?) Also BB could be playing with QJ for an OESD so I make a 2/3 pot bet and he folds.

The turn comes, giving maybe a FD to villain and again i bet around 2/3 pot and he calls.

River comes a T and unless he has been playing with KT, or slowplaying a set, I have him beat. however, since i'm afraid of sets or stuff like that, i decided to check... I suppose that was a wrong move on the river...

What do you think about it ?

Also, what should I do about my fear of slowplayed monsters. Should I just play aggressively and slowdown only If the opponent gives me reason to be afraid like making a check raise or throwing a large bet ?

TIA

little bet river here is a nice move.
if u check
he possibly moves:

- if he plays pare of kings, he could assume, that u have't got to a board, when check river & he can move a big bet
- he got a set on a river & can move a big bet
- he pulled a straight-draw, but could bet on yours check

bet closer to pot on flop and turn. shove river. It's not like we're playing deep anyway, only 80bb in villain's stack.

Don't worry too much about sets at 10nl. You can pay off every single set there and still profit handsomely if you do get proper value from your good hands.

Failure to value bet is probably a much bigger leak in your game than failure to avoid paying off sets.

Agree with Belgo. Also, I don't think he shows up with sets or a T here often. Most people are raising somewhere in the hand with a set there and most people are folding somewhere with a T to someone who double barreled agaisnt 2 people. The only tens I see him calling turn with are like... Th9h, Th8h, QhTh, JhTh, which is pretty narrow.

I assume you're planning on calling if he bets river. I think he's essentially going to bet the hands on his range that beat you and check behind with hands you beat, like KQ, KJ. So, why not bet so you can get hands that are going to check behind to call one more street? Betting more on flop and turn would help, but even so I think you should be shoving this river...

I agree with a bigger bet on the flop. more towards the full pot. there's more than one player and the board w/2 braodways is more likely your AA is going to get paid. so i'd bet a pot sized bet for value not to protect my hand. then with a big pot on the turn i'd still be looking to make the bet a good size bet( i didnt do the math) a bet that if called will make the smallest stack less than whats in the pot. that way it will be easier to get it all in on the river. if there calling you down with 2nd pair that just tripped up i dont mind paying off. because if they did have a T your sure to get your money back soon enough. theres lots of K hands that pay off here too. the only way i check the river is if i think there going to bluff at me. and even if i think that i may just make a small size bet they can shove over.

There's not much to say that hasn't already been said here - given that you're not particularly deep and the board isn't particularly dangerous you should have no issues with playing for stacks here so your bet sizing needs work. Sklansky and Miller's no limit book has a really good section on bet sizing which you would really benefit from reading.

As you played it I would still bet the river anyway as many players at $10NL will still pay you off with hands like KQ or maybe even worse if you're lucky.
